Before this project, I really had no idea how purchasing in our district was accomplished. I had an idea of what we needed and made a formal assessment of the technology needs of my school and created a proposal for purchasing new technology for that school. The budget was $50,000 and all vendors were approved vendors of Chicago Public School's Strategic Sourcing department. I used the money to purchase new technology and chose how it would all be deployed.

When I changed jobs, this knowledge gained from this project came was very useful. I am constantly researching new technologies to buy, making decisions on purchases, and choosing how our school can best use them. I now apply what I learned in the mock buying project on a near daily basis.
