A little over two years ago I was starting my second year as a classroom teacher with Chicago Public Schools and third year overall when the computer lab teacher of my school handed me a flier about National-Louis's Technology in Education program. Now here I am, a little older, and definitely a little wiser. I am now in my second year as Technology Coordinator for another Chicago Public School. I teach classes in the computer lab, help teachers with technology integration in their classroom, manage a network of 200 computers, built and maintain the school's website, and perform numerous other technology related tasks. In addition, I have built or helped to build commercial and non-profit websites, have advanced my amateur photography skills, and have greatly increased my all around technology knowledge. I owe a lot of this to the National-Louis Technology in Education program. I also owe thanks to Craig for putting up with me for the past two years, all other professors, my wonderful girlfriend Annette for all her support, my classmates, to Carol for recommending this program, and to my principal Linda and assistant principal Hector for allowing me to use their school as a training ground while completing this program. |
