MY PHOTOGRAPHY
I bought my first digital camera in 2002 during my last semester of college. It was an Olympus C-3040. It served me well. After that Annette gave me a Canon Powershot SD450. It was a great gift and we both still use it. I was given a budget by my school to buy a camera a couple years ago and bought, with the advice of B&H, a digital SLR. I fell in love. I found the Chicago Photography Center about five blocks from my old house and started taking classes. Now I spend a lot of time behind the camera and in the lab using Lightroom and Photoshop, printing and matting photos, and teaching photography students.
MY EQUIPMENT
I love Nikon as you can see by the list below. I haven't used one of their cameras or lenses I haven't liked. I started my real photographic journey with Nikon and unless someone decides to buy me thousands of dollars worth of Canon gear I'll be a Nikonian for life.

DIGITAL SLR CAMERAS
SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. Digital SLRs feature through-the-lens focus and metering, and the ability to interchange lenses. The versatility of being able to switch from macro lenses for extreme close-up photography, to telephoto lenses to capture images at great distance, and variable focal length zoom lenses, make digital SLRs the most popular kind of camera used by professionals and serious amateurs. |
